it depends!
tattoo commissions have a pretty quick turnaround, just a sketch and a final.
painting and illustration work depends on the size and the medium. i always do a sketch phase as well as a color rough before starting on final pieces. because of the increased detail in each of these phases, it’s a bit of a longer process.
i’ve found that the leading cause of delay is lack of feedback - the faster and more detailed your comments are, the more i get to work on your piece!

as each work is custom and my process involves a lot of client feedback and plenty of time for revisions, there are no refunds for commissions.
pricing
fifty percent is due upon time of commission, second half due after seeing watermarked finals before file transfer or shipping.
illustration and painting
illustration and painting commissions are based around medium and size.
when working with me on custom work, you can expect a robust set of sketches to choose from, a refined sketch phase, then a pre-final look at your piece to make any smaller changes.
traditional — small scale pieces from 3”x3” to 8”x8” can be expected to fall in a range of $120 - $360. this will vary greatly depending on the style and detail you are interested in.
pieces with any dimension larger than 12” can be expected to be $300+ depending on the style and detail.
final artworks painted on paper will come with a 1/2” - 1” border. canvases are painted in full. you will also need to cover the cost of shipping your piece. this ranges significantly depending on size, shape, and destination. all commissions will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking numbers and insurance.
a 50% non-refundable deposit is due prior to starting the commission process.
tattoo commissions
tattoo commissions are single color and can be done in two different styles, doodle or refined. as this is a beautiful form of permanent work, clients can expect a thorough set of sketch iterations to choose from, after which i will polish the chosen sketch and do final linework.
doodle style tattoo commissions are $70 flat rate.
refined style tattoo commissions start at $110 and will increase with level of detail.
please see my portfolio for tattoo design examples. i also have flash tattoo designs available on my store, if you are interested in purchasing a pre-made design at a lower cost.
a 50% non-refundable deposit is due prior to starting the design process.
book covers
book covers start at $1200.
this process is time-intensive and i always want to make sure your book can be easily judged by it’s cover! despite the cliche, it’s…kinda what everyone does.
